Acoustic Guitar Cases Hardshell

Question about acoustic guitar hardshell cases?
Hello fellow guitarists,
I asked for a hardshell dreadnought acoustic guitar case for christmas 2009. I had a gig bag for my Jasmine by Takamine ES-31C, but wanted a hardshell case. My Mother grasciously got me a Road Runner dreadnought hardshell acoustic guitar case.

While I like the protection it offers for my guitar, it is very heavy with the guitar in it and it difficult to carry across my college campus to lessons and back. I wanted to know if there are any lighter weight hardshell acoustic dreadnought guitar cases or any better options? Are other brands better?
Any advice or tips would be great. I am considering selling this one and then using the money towards a newer, better case if it exists. Thanks!!
There are hard foam cases that are as light as gig bags, but which offer protection similar to that offered by hardshell cases. Here’s a link to one (with measurements, so you can see if it will fit your guitar) at Musician’s Friend:

I’ve been using the foam cases for a few years now and absolutely love them. Hope this helps!
