The EpiphoneEF-500RCCE Masterbilt is a work of art in sight and sound

The Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500RCCE guitar looks as great as it sounds. I have sometimes wanted to hang my acoustic guitars with the sound hole facing the wall so I could look at the woodwork on the back. If you enjoy looking at wood art, rosewood is warm and deep with strong patterns in the grain. The EF-500RCCE is especially suited for such displays with the Natural Satin finish sold cedar top and rosewood back and sides. The neck is mahogany,
supporting a rosewood fretboard with split diamond inlays. Also contributing to the good looks department is the vintage design arrangement which includes an offset headstock, gold hardware, open gear Grover tuners and a ’50s V neck. For those collectors that don’t play, (you know who you are,) the Epiphone Masterbilt will be an excellent addition to your personal guitar museum.

Those of you that do play will find the EF-500RCCE to be as aurally pleasing as it is visually stunning. The solid tone woods are incorporated into a concert size single cutaway body.
The smaller body tightens up the sonic spectrum as well as cuts down on the boom bottom end. The 1.75″ nut width adds a skosh more room for those finger pickin’ fingers to get at the strings.

If all that I have mentioned so far isn’t enough, the good people at Epiphone have installed an eSonic pickup system from Shadow Electronics. This is a dual output setup with the Nanomag placed at the end of the neck at the top of the sound hole. This pickup amplifies the strings and the sound collected inside the body. Under the saddle is the Nanoflex pickup which detects vibration from the strings and the sound board. Two pickups, each capturing a different side of the vibration can be output separately or mixed together in the control panel which is located on the upper bout of the guitar.

And now for the piece de resistance; you can acquire an Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500RCCE Masterbilt with a case and probably a set of strings or two for less than a thousand bucks.
