have an 80’s soft rock song in my head…aaaagh! what is it!?
it’s a soft rock song around (roughly)1980-1985.
from the outset it has a fast bass guitar playing 3 strings over and over (it plays most of the song)
it then has an “echoy” piano in a high key. playing much slower.
and I think is accompanied by a xylophone later in the song.
the singing is a single male
the singing is perhaps slightly melancholic (sad/whiney), but not a power ballad
I can’t remember any lyrics.
I’m thinking it was a band like or sounds similar to:
“Bruce hornsby and the range” or
“hewy lewis and the news”
help it’s driving me mad!
and no it’s not rick astley, lol
it has a similar vocal sound and speed to:
Bruce Hornsby-it’s just they way it is.
