As far as instruments go, the bass is one of the newest on the scene. It is a completely new component of today's bands and modern music and has not even in existence for a century. Do not be fooled the name "Bass" is either the bass does not really depend on the guitar.
While e-guitars development of acoustic guitars, bass guitars were developed from the double bass instrument. They were originally known (and sometimes still called) electric bass instruments and bass guitar.
The original double bass, or just the bass are the solid, classic instruments that have been around for hundreds of years. You are with the instrument on the Bottom sits, played with a bow across the strings.
The bass is of course held with a strap on a musician and played the body is with the fingers. What the back and forth of the bow to its predecessor, and the contrast with a plectrum plucking an electric guitar, bass guitar usually either plucking or striking movements of the Finger plays.
It is coordinated with the added benefit of course, that are amplified to sound the same as an original bass. In the first half 20th Century, as the music grew louder and louder the bass was not being drowned and be heard. And so the search for an electric bass is started.
Leo Fender and the creation of the E-Bass
Leo Fender was an amazing man, a visionary and is one of the single most influential people in modern music history. All of these things and more is Leo Fender. However, one thing he is not the inventor of the electric bass.
In 1935, Paul Tutmarc, the first incarnation of the Electric Bass developed. It was to be played horizontally and held like a guitar and could be inserted for reinforcement. However, his instrument never really caught on. It was in 1951 that the bass deserves its place in modern music began.
Leo Fender created his Fender Precision Bass, the mass produced and explodes in popularity. Gibson followed was there shortly after and the bass guitar became an important part of jazz ensembles and today, almost all musical styles and bands.
As with the electric guitar, Leo Fender capitalized on previous inventions, pinched his own specifications and mass produced them to extreme success. While he was affectionately for his services to be remembered, let us not forget the original inventor of the electric bass, Paul Tutmarc.
