How can I choose a good electric guitar distortion pedal for a 10 watt amplifier?
I have a 10 watt amplifier. I llisten to bands like Metallica, Demon Hunter, Evanescence, Linkin Park. I prefer heavy sounds.
First of all… its quite hard to get heavy sounds from small amps, due to small speakers. But you can get decent sounds.
For heavy sounds try the rocktron metal planet, boss metal zone, and the rocktron silver dragon. Visit www.musiciansfriend.com for samples. Oh there is also the Electro Harmonix Metal Muff.
If you plan to buy a bigger amp in the future, do not buy cheap pedals. But if you are on a tight budget. the metal zone is great. I dont recommend Digitech stuff since my friend’s metal master died after 3 months of use.
