Electric Guitar Bridge Replacement

I just found out my guitar has a tremolo bridge, is it safe to use?
Okay so this. I can use my old Dad Starter Pack Electric Ibanez Gio, and one day he got me to put some new strings for the first time in like 3 years. So I did, and today I went to play and saw that the bridge was out of the body and bent at an angle of 45 degrees to the middle of the body. I was like WTF! Broke! unloosened quickly and the strings so I inspected the bridge, did a little research and found the fine-tuners and a tremolo hole where this thing should be that shit comes with a whammy bar and my dad, his failing memory, he forgot that he fell. Now this is a kind of return to normal, and I get a replacement bar, but pressing on the bridge that makes the different sound like a whammy bar. What I'm asking is, is safe to tune back to normal and regular use as a Floyd Rose or whatever with a whammy bar again? I have fear of the bridge will come as it did when I met him and break the guitar or something.
If I do not care .. model would be good. If memory recalls, Ibanez Gio trems have floyd rose locking, but have something like a / 6, paragraph 2, synchronized tremolo. Are more similar to Fender Tremolo Start Floyd Rose. If properly set up will be held tune very well, nothing compared to a FR though. If I were in his position would do one of two things.
