How I can start playing and learning the electric guitar?
Hi, I had an electric guitar a little over a year and I been very lazy and only know the very basics. This is because only occasionally pick up the guitar and played with it for a while, since I have no training formal / lessons. I wondered if there was any specific websites and online resources / books / sources that could be used to improve my guitar skills as a beginner. Thanks!
I was almost exactly like you. I had my guitar sitting in my room collecting dust for about two years before I really I started playing it. I have not taken formal classes. If you're like me, you only need a little coaching when you get started, then you should be able to teach yourself pretty well. I www.justinguitar.com. It is a great site run by a great guitar teacher and best of all its completely free. He will teach you the basics, and if you want, the more advanced. Personally, I like to teach myself, but usually only have a little help getting started (EDIT: as the type above me said, check out ultimate-guitar.com for tabs once you learn to play.)
