how many watts for the bass amp in this situation?
I have a 100w amplifier two which is used by the rhythm guitarist .. I have a drum kit, but I do not have a bass. I doubt thinking of buying a bass, but I have for the amplifier … i usually play with my band and use my amp volume 100W to about 4 (not so high but not slow it is) .. so my other guitarist also crank up to volume 4 and I play with my drummer .. so I want how many watts for a bass amp i should get? (Enough for it to be heard / compete with guitar amps) No .. bcoz i want to get 100w its not about my budget and I do not have it so high anyway .. any suggestions? 50w will do? or less or more? and any good brand? (If ur wondering, two amplifiers guitar is the leader of my defense 212R) Thanks in advance
That's a good question. I've been playing bass since 1978, but only had two amps. I my first was a crate 200w and I have now is a 350W Hartke to play through two Ampeg Cabinets. 2 10s on the top and 18 on the bottom. I've played bars and wedding halls, without ever having to turn the volume past 1 1 / 2 to 2. If you crank up to 4 could break all the windows of my house. I have a practice unit an amplifier (it is an old tube amp) but does not say how many watts it is. It's great to play with a pair of guitarists, but can not overpower a drum kit. I'll take your battery to a music store and try out different amps to see what the volume will suffice. I am a big fan of Hartke when it comes to guitars low. If you find the right power in a music store you may want to check out the pawn shops and make some money.
