Electrical Components

The following section describes the most common Components are used in an electric guitar.
Pickup
Pickups convert the mechanical energy of a vibrating string into an electrical signal, causing it to be strengthened be processed and rendered. Single-Coil – pickups are very different in structure, size, types of materials used, and various electrical properties, but usually divided into two categories and double coil (humbucker as well known).
Potentiometer
Potentiometer (often called "pots" for short) can be used to control a variety of functions within an electric guitar. In most cases, they function as tone and volume control, but can also blend two pickups together absorb a coil of a humbucker, and so on.
Potentiometers are differentiated according to their electrical properties, of which the following are most important in a Electric Guitar:
Value – The resistance between the two outer plates. The most common values are 250 K (for single-coil pickups) and 300-500 K (for humbuckers) although values were used as high as 1 M. 25 K pots are used with active electronics.
Taper – travel money from wiper to the resistance between the wiper and the outer lugs. Besides the usual Pots for volume and tone controls are not used, a number of specialized types:
Push-pull pots – these pots contain an on-on DPDT switch on the bottom of the pot, that by pulling the shaft out and slide it back into the operation (hence the name). The switch is electrically independent from the Pot and can be used for a number of functions.
Push-push pots – a variant of the above, these pots take on a switch that activates and deactivated by pressing the center of the button. This is used by Fender in their S-1 switching system, and in contrast to push-pull pots, requires a special controller.
Bias current pots – even Fender used to have separated these pots clockwise nose out of the resistive strip inside, leading to an infinite resistance between the Wipers and other external nose full when clockwise. These are sometimes used as a tone knob to control the load on the pickup (s) through the pot and the tone when capacitor to remove shown rotated to 10.

Capacitors
Capacitors (often called "caps") have several uses in electric guitars, the most frequently from those in the tone control is where it acts as a high-pass filter, short-circuiting of heights to the ground and caused the entire tone control act as a low pass filter. Capacitors used in electric guitars are distinguished by the following electrical characteristics:

Custom wiring modifications
There are countless ways to change the wiring of the electric guitar. Some of the most popular modifications are described below.
Coil Splitting
A humbucker is electrically equivalent to two single-coil pickups connected together in series. Coil splitting is shorting one of the coil to the ground, essentially turning the humbuckers into single-coil pickups (not a perfect replica, though, as the magnetic circuits of the two different pickup types are). This is usually done with a DPDT switch, but can also be done with a push-pull pot. Some manufacturers have a pot used to adjust the strength of the signal Mass vary from a shorted coil, creating a series of notes between a humbucker and a single coil. Coil-splitting produces a sound that is brighter and has less Performance as a full humbucker. It also eliminates the humbucker to the noise-canceling properties. Phase cancellation
Another popular modification is to the electrical polarity of the pickups (or a coil of a dual-coil pickups) be reversed. The closer the pickups to each other, the greater the cancellation and thus the weaker and thinner the resulting sound. One way to increase the usability of the clay obtained this way is to wire a capacitor in series with the pickup that their electrical polarity reversed. This filters the collection of the lower frequencies and thus preserves the corresponding frequencies of the other pickup. The resulting sound fuller and stronger, but otherwise as the standard in-phase combinations, similar to the sound of a "clamped Wah" (a wah-wah pedal in a fixed position). The capacitor used for is usually 10-50 nF range, as is generally used with the tone potentiometer.
Unintentional phase cancellation can also occur if a guitar pickups wired wrong , or when a new pickup has built into the guitar different magnetic or electrical polarity from which it replaced. To resolve this, the collection of the magnetic electrical polarity or vice versa (which one exactly depends on the polarities of the other pickup (s) and that they are hum-canceling combinations desired). Parallel / series switch

Active electronics
