How long would it take for average person to learn the basics of guitar playing?
Now only the basics, I would about one years say ….. that reads music, without hesitation, changing chords, learning about buttons and a little theory. This is the average seems to be with my students ….. some are a little faster …. and some a little slower …. it depends on your skill and musical talent …. I have a new school now that I have about a month had never touched before guitar (he just got for Christmas). and already he can play and read all the notes in the first position ….. low and high, this can be over five Scales white, about ten chords, and can without difficulty, a few songs, chords and notes (finger style) change and what surprises me is that he left handed and plays Right-handed. Some people have perfect pitch …. and others have very good memories, so it depends on a number of factors. If your thinking about playing with a teacher the best way to learn. I hope that you decide to play, it's a great hobby …. Your never boring, and it is something that you years of enjoyment! I've played over 35 years and I enjoy every minute of it.
