You are a parent getting ready to start their child cello lessons? This article is for you! Before you run out and buy an instrument for your budding Yo Yo Ma, why not rent? Or maybe your school has an instrument that you can borrow to get started. No matter how excited you or your child can do better, on the conservative side to start. No parent knows how long this will take interest.

Another suggestion: talk with your future cello teacher before you try this go on your own! Frankly, unless you have been through itself, you are shocked at what cost a decent bow and cello case. And do not accept, that they come together as a set. This is not necessarily the case!

You need to buy or rent the right size unit for your son or daughter. You will do better with an instrument that they fit properly. A Violin Shop is the best place to go if there is a in the region. Even with the private teacher or check the music department at your school for help.

If you can afford to rent or buy anything but the cheapest place to do, please. The instruments sound really cheap that way. And it's a challenge to sound enough for a child on a cello or other instrument, without them the cheapest thing around well.

And please, please, please … do not buy an instrument from the Internet. I have seen the absolute worst show up instruments because someone decided to buy one this way.
