How I can use my Ibanez guitar tuner?

I just bought and Ibanez guitar quick start package and came Jampacked Electonic tuner wit, but I'm not sure I totally know how to use it. when you turn on and play a string sometimes flashes a different note the tuner tells me adjust that. What am I doing wrong? indeed i am totally new to the guitar.

I dial in spots, and a screen that tells me what I am and adjust chain if it is too tight or too loose .. i do not let it get to where the string is displayed wrong, but if you just get the chain loose and bit RLY a little squeeze to get the string at that time to adjust as it should be .. if you dont know youre strings are E for the lower (higher) and there ADGB and E again for the highest (Smaller) string
