How to Play Acoustic Guitar: Is There a Better Option?
First, you need to learn the differences between the classic and electric version. The most evident one is that the electric instrument needs to be connected to an amplifier. Without this device, the instrument is not going to sound loudly and clearly. However, if you choose to play acoustic guitar, this is going to sound great without using any additional devices. This is because the classical instrument is provided with a special sound hole.
As I already mentioned, the music genre has a decisive role in convincing you to fiddle with a traditional instrument instead of an electric one. Therefore, if you like hard rock genres, such as scream, modern, alternative or metal then you should definitely choose an electric instrument. For sure, if you play acoustic guitar, these songs are not going to sound too great. Anyway, if you still want to try it, there is also rock music that can be stringed using the classical instrument. You can choose a semi-hollowed instrument as this usually sounds better for rock songs.
In case that you just like to play acoustic guitar, you should probably try soft music genres, such as blues, jazz or light rock ballads. Besides all these, you should also consider your skill level. In case, that you just want to leisurely string the instrument for yourself, you can choose an electric one from the beginning. Anyway, if you want to become a professional with the instrument, then you have to learn first to handle the traditional version of the instrument.
Learning to handle a classical instrument is actually the best and appropriate thing to start with other types. This is because it presents a more precise and correct way to learn. After you know how to play the acoustic guitar and truly confident about your skills, you can replace at any time the classical one with the electric one. For sure, doing this is going to be much easier to learn handling the electric instrument, as you already know the basics relevant to your lessons to play acoustic guitar.
