How the working methods of the guitar with the scales?
I'm very confused with trying to understand the modes (Dorian, etc.) Faced with the largest scales and minors. Learning alone, should focus on major minor scales, pentatonic or learn ways? If a song is in the key of "G", I can play the "G" major / minor scales or I can play a Dorian mode Em? What ways of working with different keys? I just need to know what to memorize, the modes (after understanding what they are) or simply work on scales and modes forget. I hope I explained that you can?
Hello, It seems they are pretty confusing. Let's establish some basics. In the simplest form has notes. A note is a single tone. You start your chain Open 'B', then you're playing a note. 'B' The note of. If notes are combined, then form chords. There are specific chords that require certain letters that form them. All songs are played in a key. Like you mentioned. For example, the key of G Major. There are 12 notes in music. Only 12. It is called the chromatic scale. It's all the music notes. A, A, B, C, C #, D, D #, E, F, F # #, G, G #. One key is the 12 notes and places in a group of 7 (sometimes more or less, but that is advanced, basic or typical keys are 7 notes.) So take the Key of G Major … has seven notes: G, A, B, C, D, E, and F #. Those are the only 7 notes can play in that key (there are exceptions, but again, an advanced material). Well, now we know what the key G Major is, let's look at the modes. So you're playing a song in the key of G Major. What scale do you use? Well, you can play the G Major Scale. The G major scale is the same as the key: G, A, B, C, D, E, and F #. The G Major Scale begins on 3 fret of the low E string. So let's look at this depth. What is a scale that tells us? Well, that is, notes 7 / 12 are acceptable in the Key. So to learn the scales and modes, we are learning in these 7 notes, the whole guitar. We know what notes are acceptable in the key of G Major. Now the scale only shows us in these notes are for the guitar. As you know, there several places to play a "G" and a B 'note', etc. Here is where modes come in. So again, who is playing in the key G major, what scales I can use? Well, you are playing the key of G major, so the key of G major scale is going to use. The G minor scale will not work because they do not fit in the key. Use the ways of playing the same key, but the beginning of the different areas. So use the key ways to play the G Major in the entire neck guitar. So as I said, to play the G Major scale starting on 3 fret low E string (ie from a G note). That's the way first, Ionian. But is the scale of G major. Now look at the next option. From the 5 th fret of the low E (from the note "A"). This is the next higher Postition G Major, this is called Dorian. That are still playing the G major scale, who are just starting on a different note (different step on the scale). So if a Song is in the key of G Major. The modes are just different positions scales. That is, I can not say I'm playing in the Key of G Lidia. It makes no sense. You or play in one, minor, blues, or Penatonic Clave Mayor. (There are many more but those are the basics). So it's G minor and G Major key Penatonic key or E Major Blues. A side note, all scales and Penatonic Blues are only 5 or 6 notes. This is different to a standard scale more or less, because they contain seven notes. That's why Penatonic scales are popular (only 5 notes.) No more than that, that too.
