Guitar Nut Shim

Stick a nut on a guitar.?
Order in the replacement of the nut on my guitar … in the use of his only pre-cut plastic I could find I had to shim it with a thick piece of paper. ive seen forums where people said to use white Elmer's school glue, glue them back, but I ask me if glue stick glue would work. I Stuborn plastic model glue and his being and it does remain. I have a glue stick, but I wanted to check before I try constantly so its not a waste of time. I do not want to be.
Use a paper liner. It is the extreme pressure to compress the strings and eventually deform. It will also absorb the glue and interfere with bonding. The best use to shim a nut is a piece (s) of Plastic pick. You are in exactly the strengths and provide a much better and precise height adjustment. You can use the edge of a large delta wing or get take a standard size select and cut into strips the same width as the mother and two of the strip is under the nut (cut off the ends of each strip fix to fit flush together) with Crazy Glue in the washer and nut on the guitar. It will keep the mother of switch position and resolve early. White Elmer's glue is not enough Adhesive force on the nut to hold it in position under the tension of the strings. Glue stick will certainly not work. Use a standard crazy glue or super glue. It is the best adhesive for the installation of a mother. Only a few small drops is more than enough to get it firmly in place. Remove the nut still later by a file against the mother and beatings with a hammer. (Remove strings and set file on the first fret to the nut and tap with hammer to the head plate, nut pop) I have years in music stores for many and have done hundreds of times this modification. If you do not feel too, to do it, take the guitar to your local music shop and let them do it for you. It will probably cost less than $ 10
