Guitar Theory

What is the best way to learn guitar theory? I already play guitar, but I wonder what I'm playing!
I will give a reader "to digest" the first short answer. If you do not understand, read more. I have included excerpts from my education to help explain. While none of this is difficult if you have a solid foundation, which can be very confusing if you have holes in his musical education. Only a competent teacher can help. There _____________________________________________________________________ are six strings on the guitar, but two of them have the same name, … "E." So there are only five different strings on the guitar. That's why in fact there are only five basic chord forms and shapes. You can play them all in the open position in the first three frets. Here are their names, C, A, G, E, D. There three main families of chords, the most minor and dominant. So you have to learn to change the basic shapes Major chord for minor releases and dominant. You should always be aware that the roots in every chord. The roots never change. Only the notes that others do. Once you can play all those chords instantly learn to play without using the index finger. That way you can use all forms and shapes furniture or bar chords. "When you can do that, you can play any accordingly, any progression in any key in any position! Everything in music is known in comparison with the major scale, so you should learn that. Once you know it, you must study to see how the chords built on tones of the scale. Playing scales and arpeggios facilitates this process. Once you can play scales and arpeggios for any chord, we must study the chord progressions. Learn the basics first. I, IV, V7 then, then I, IV, V, and I saw ii, V7, and sound alike, I saw, IV, V7, … below, III, VI, II, V7, I also consider the quarter cycle and the cycle of fifths. Then study progressions linear. You can scroll up or down steps and half whole steps, minor or major thirds. In Jazz, II, V7 is a very important progression and learn melodies and solos in practice that much progression. So after playing all the songs with these progressions and playing practice across all these changes, you'll have a pretty good idea of what you are doing! ____________________________________________________________________ What is the best way to learn guitar theory? I already play guitar, but I wonder what I'm playing! "Great question! Is absolutely vital that you" know what they are playing! "The yogis have a saying," when the student is ready the teacher appears. "Maybe you're ready. Maybe I'm the teacher, or at least one them … Music Theory is ridiculously easy in a sense. The only requirements are that you know the alphabet to the "G" and be counted. If you know what they are even and odd numbers is a big advantage too. But all music theory is really that simple. The reason people get confused in theory of music is because you have to keep track of various kinds of numbers at once. That is also why some people think that music is "mathematical." These people know very little about math and nothing about music. No math in music. Sometimes using a little simple arithmetic, but that's it. No math … With that said, here's my short version of the musical theory. First, the theory of music is not reading. This is not writing. Reading and writing help DEFINITELY. Reading music is easy. It only takes about ten minutes to learn. You can master in a few months. Depending of his talent and how good practice can be an expert reader of sight in a year or two. But the theory of music is not really about that. theory Music is the harmony! When musicians discuss theory, they are really talking about is the harmony, which makes the music work! Harmony (Music theory) is easy if you know how to build a larger scale. Used the major scale, as a ruler or yardstick to measure and describe everything else in music. When we say, "quarter" means "four notes of the scale." When we say "bottom third," we mean " three notes in the scale. When we say, "play the 1, 3, 5, and 7" refers to "play the notes as they appear in numbers in that scale." For Therefore, it makes sense then that we must be familiar with the major scale! It describes the notes on a scale of simple numbers. In the larger scale, there are seven different notes. Because there are only seven different letters in our musical alphabet (from A to G) when playing octave (eight notes higher or lower) have the note with the same name. I illustrate this simple concept in the key of C. C is our first note that what we call "UNO". Therefore, D 2, E 3, and so on … The important thing CDEFGABC 12345678 is to know the distance between notes. In each scale, the half steps are between 3 and 4 and 7 and 8. All other intervals are whole steps. What you say? You do not know what I mean? Here … Just as there are two half dollars in a whole dollar, there are two steps of half a whole step. On guitar each fret is half the next step, either up or down. Two frets in either direction on the same string that is a whole step. Once you understand that you can play and the larger scale, You can find any note of any chord in any key! Here are the basics for understanding Chords … have written the names. There are only 7 letters: A, B, C, D, E, F, G. They always go in alphabetical order, and repeated in an endless cycle. After the letter-name, there may be a switch, … as a second name. The symbols of the amendment, # b indicate sharp and severe. # Sharp means up to half a step … Apartment media ♭ a half step down. We have the plans and sharp objects, and we can play notes or chords that are not one of the seven letter plain group name. There are 12 tones in total, but we use only 7 letters. That's why need strong flat symbols to describe the people next door notes format. There are only five additional notes, so it is easy to learn … 12 notes total but 7 normal letters equivalent to only 5 additional notes. The 5 extra notes can have two names. For example, a half step above A is the same note as a means step below B. That 's why A # is the same note in B flat. Chords come in three basic types, Major, Minor and dominant. You can identify chords just like, happy, sad or funny. Major and minor chords are triads of friction, which means that just three tones. dominant chords are exactly same major chords with an added seventh floor. They are always appointed by the number 7, or some other odd number such as 9 or 13. Consistent with a 11 after of his letter-name is also sometimes dominant types, which means they have a 7 in them. These are the luxury line. I'll describe later. The chords are built from odd numbers 1, 3, 5, … and so on until 13. Dominant seventh chords always also include 7. 1 and 5 never change the basic chords. Always use normal chords! 3 and the replacement of 7 NO. The type of 3 and 7 provides the kind of chord. There are two types of 3 and two types of 7. 3 can be higher or lower, that is, large or small, happy or sad. Are three children with a minus sign or "min." If you see a minus sign, the use of a less than 3. Major and dominant chords use the command 3rd. If a chord-symbol is a letter in name only, no numbers or other marks, is higher. Then pick 3. Any line with an odd number is a dominant chord seventh. For them, choose the normal or above 3, and the floor 7. > All simple chords have a 1 and 5. (Root and 5)> minor chords use a -3 (Third child) rather than the major third. > More and more dominant both have 3 normal. > Dominant chord, those with odd numbers always have a Floor 7. Basic chords … basic chords are built from the tone scale. Tone scale is numbered from 1 to 7. All the basic chords using three odd numbers 1, 3 and 5. A basic chord, dominant 7, you have an extra odd footnote 7. There are only three types or families of basic chords, major, minor and dominant. Major chords are easy to construct. They have the 1, 3, 5. Minor chords are exactly the same, except for the third flat, (-3) 7 dominant chords are as large, but include an additional note, the floor 7. A chart can help you see and compare the construction of chords; TOP 135 -35 minor1 Dom71357 See how the three chords, the guys have the 1 and 5,. That's true for all the basic chords. 1 and 5 do not change, so that on 1 and 5 do not describe chord type. Think of one as the basis of a building or tree roots. In fact, musicians often refer to one as the root. 5 is compatible with 1, as the walls supporting a house. The walls will not let us see what is inside a house … the 5 does not say what is inside of a chord. Only 3 and 7 define the string type. Major and dominant 7 chords Both use a major third, 3. Only minor chords have a third child, also called flat session. (-3 °) In the letter-name root only tells us Where to begin construction … said that the base should go. Once you can play all you need to learn chord progressions … As you play songs begin to notice recurring patterns of progressions. Chord progressions are exactly that, "a series of chords as they progress over time." Chord progressions defined by the movement of the root. The roots are described using Roman numerals for other numbers used to describe other things. This is the easiest way to remember: the Roman numerals indicate the fundamental chord compared to the tonal center or key. If the key is C, the "one chord" C. would Chord types also have different qualities. You can think of the types of groups or "families" of chords. As I said, there are three basic types major, minor and dominant. These are more or less comparable to Happy sounds sad and funny. So if I want to indicate a "one" to "four" chord I would say "one, four" or write "I, IV" Maybe you have forgotten your Roman numerals … Here is a review. 1234567 I IIIIIIVVVIVII That's not too difficult. But there is a problem. Chords also have a quality or type as well. Remember? … Major, minor, dominant? Well a convention to indicate chord is used as equivalent to lowercase Roman numerals for minor chords. For example, in the regular diatonic harmony (in any key) The Four and Five triads are important. So I would write that I, IV and V. In general, the strains of two, three and six are one third less in them, what are the types of chords children. We would like to write like the II, III and VI. Roman numerals indicate CHORD-ROOTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE KEY. ROMAN LARGE NUMBERS are major chords. numbers are small minor chords. Once you have practiced see the chord progressions that way for a couple of weeks, you'll see the same patterns come again and again. From experience, I can say that the most important progressions and what to practice them in Start with the I, IV progression. He also plays the self, V7 progression, however, if nothing of this seems confusing, I know I can, just have to read, reread and read again … slowly. If you can play on a large scale can discover a lot of it for yourself. But no substitute for lessons with a private music teacher. Find one. Any competent music teacher should be able to explain and demonstrate all the concepts I have mentioned here. If not, find another teacher! I sincerely want to help and will gladly accept personal emails with specific questions on this topic or anything related to music theory on guitar. My time is limited I will share my knowledge as time permits. Best wishes!
