How to Make a Great Guitar Solo

It is not what you play, it's how you play it.

There are many ways to make to guitar solos. Most guitarists focus on "what to play" against "how to play things'. The fact is, the nuances of phrasing (" like "the notes be played) is often more important than the music we play really. How many times have you heard someone play a solo 'without' a lot of feeling? Often there was nothing wrong with their choice of notes. The solo was lacking emotion and interest, because the "wording" was weak.

Guitar phrasing is the most important aspect for the creation great guitar solos, but very few guitarists learn to develop this key element of their guitar.

One of the best things that can you do to do better guitar solos is to carefully study your favorite singers. In the late 1990s, I began the vocal styles my favorite singers to study. I've learned to play the guitar every little nuance of her vocal phrasing and vibrato … and especially of the "musical contexts," in which they are different phrasing and vibrato while singing decisions. Singers can not many things we can do on the guitar, but they can naturally and effortlessly Do things that are not common (but still possible) to do on the guitar.

Listen to your favorite singer and see the difference between their vocal phrasing ("how" they sing notes and phrases) and guitar phrasing ("how" you play your notes and phrases). Then listen carefully, how they construct their sentences singer and compare that to create as to your guitar solos. When you really pay attention to this, you will probably have some very cool and powerful observations. This can be one to be the best guitar solo lessons you ever will have. It can be a real eye-catcher (and ear) opening experience that will lead you to many new ideas that you use to get you can discover your own great guitar solos can.

Here are three things that you learn and can implement in your game immediately, so that you always have better guitar solos.

Delayed vibrato: Listen to how many singers) sing a note (with no vibrato at first and then start, then apply vibrato to do it for a few moments. The vast majority of guitar players do not so when soloing, but they immediately apply the vibrato to the note. Although this may sound too good, it gets old to always apply immediately vibrato, if you use it. To play a note on your guitar, Make it sound natural (without vibrato), for a moment, then apply to vibrato. In addition to the creation of a 'vocal style of guitar playing, you can also notice that the note you're playing with more. (Please see the video below).

Movement between the notes: As you know, when playing notes on a piano it is to "bend" notes, no way. Singers often 'bend' notes in both directions (Up or down in pitch), although down "bent" notes are often in the most vocal styles. Guitarists often bend notes, but 99% the time they only bend notes 'up' (in pitch).

Intuitive emotional expression: Singers often manipulated tensions and dissonances intuitive. You could sing 9th a chord, because it makes a very specific emotional feeling. Most (not jazz) guitar would of course play the root and also a guitar solo (especially at the end of a phrase). This is because typically about guitar scale patterns and positions .
