MacBookPro is suitable for music recording programs like M-Audio FastTrack Recording Interface?

I'm thinking of buying a macbookpro and the need it is able to record music as mic'd guitar and drums, etc. I want to be able to mix the tracks and everything else too that the MacBookPro be as good as they say a PC? "I can just plug my existing Internet connection? Can you add memory it if necessary? Any cons with the MacBookPro? Is the M-Audio FastTrack Recording Interface big or have a suggestion for something even better? Thanks for your help:)

Of course, if not better – Apple's line optimized for audio recording and have several impressive programs built in Firewire and also include more advanced audio into their systems computers.
