I'm looking for a device that lets you remove the guitar track of a recording. The only I could find is this one: http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Tascam-MPGT1-Portable-MP3-Guitar-Trainer?sku=241197 Does anyone know if there are others available what? (Thought I saw a line 6 did, but I can not find it)
The device you mentioned uses a notch filter to eliminate specific frequency holding the guitar in a recording. This is similar to using a graphic equalizer and fader fully down the specific frequency of guitars. The only problem is that removes practically everything on that frequency and from the guitar dominates the middle and end all of the top half of the sound spectrum can eliminate many of the vocals and keyboards and all that is in this range of frequencies. Because the guitar tends to bleed more in the low and high spectrum really can not eliminate all of it, but it removes enough so you can play along and substitute its own part of the original (sorta). Left-T is right to mention the shock of entry / exit control but this is a device used to track multiple recording such as a 16-track digital recorder that is used to actually record the original tracks. Let you are in a recording studio and recorded all the drums, bass, guitars, etc. All of them are recorded in his solo career. The knock on the device (Usually only a foot base) allows you to "Puch" a track that is being monitored to re-record more than they previously did not. This is used for Fixing an error or redoing a part of a track that was not right for some reason. You can not delete a track from a finished product like a CD or MP3. The filter device Notch is also used in karaoke machines eliminate many existing voices, but the same problems mentioned above
