Why use Professional Backing Tracks?
If performed in a rock band or country of any kind, then you should know that the use of professional backing tracks will help you be one step ahead of your competition. Right tracks can be added to their sound and performance greatly and will help interpret songs that can not normally be able to play live. If you are in a cover band, a tribute band or original band, the tracks are going to give that extra edge to thicken their live sound.
Basically, a backing track is a piece of recorded music. This is especially useful if you play in a four-piece band that has no Keyboard player, for example. You want to play a song that has a keyboard part and the background music is played on the keyboard, while the rest the band does its usual thing. Include a battery track to play along in a canal, while playing music in the other channel. I agree that if you put too much into them, then there is an element Karaoke, however, requires a certain amount of skill to play the tracks so that should be considered as well. Use them to the parts you need, harmony complex vocal or two, and that's it.
