Setting Bass Guitar Intonation

If I raise the action on my guitar, this change the tone?
I recently started using my bass guitar again after over 4 years electric guitar playing because I have an audition for a possible place in a band before. However, now that I know of the guitar and how they should be configured to adapt to my style of playing, I've noticed the action is too low and hard whether I play or tremolo picking then the noise of the frets and strings to a nasty fret buzz. So my question is if I raise the action of a few millimeters of this change, the tone and I also call it modified? I can lift the action, but getting the right pitch again if it changes is a different story. Thanks in advance.
As Jake says here – is not exactly a genius to set intonation, and is definitely something you want to learn to do yourself. You probably have to do sometimes, if you change string gauge, change the action, etc. Note that you do not want to adjust the action until you have verified that the relief of the neck is fine. If the aid is off – in other words, you have a bow back or too forward-on the neck – then will be of little or no help to enhance the action. Ie – you have to take action very high, to avoid hum if the neck is bowed. You use the neck truss rod to adjust the neck. This is also a straight forward "do-it-yourself Procedure. However, you may want to have someone show you how to check the topography and the tightening or reinforcement bar correctly and carefully, before you do it yourself. Loosening The procedure for setting this stuff up is as follows: – fresh strings – Adjusting neck relief (if necessary) – Action Set on the bridge (if required) – Set the action in the chair (if necessary – is not a kind of mania of tasks) – Setting the intonation (if necessary) – Adjust the height of the individual chairs to match the fingerboard radius (if necessary and if possible) – Fine tune and check intonation repair qualified luthier or always want to adjust the instrument to match your playing and cords used in that particular instrument.
